I can’t believe Liam is 3 months old already! It seems like just yesterday I was complaining about how much my back hurt from being pregnant, and I couldn’t sleep in our bed anymore because it was too uncomfortable. Now, we have this new little life in our lives. He is such a happy baby and is changing so much every day.
During these last few weeks, he’s gained a lot of head control and has been so much more interactive. It is so fun to see him chat with his toys or grab onto things like his favorite rattle and my hair included. We are so excited that his 3 month birthday marks when he can start swim lessons at the Murray Callen Swim School – his first lesson is tomorrow!! We took a tour a few weeks ago, and were so impressed with how well the kids could swim at such a young age. We have run into so many other parents that have highly recommended it as well. I think it will be such a fun activity for Liam, and a great way to get him used to being in the water. He loves his bath so much, and I know daddy and Uncle Souf want to get this little man on a board in the water as soon as possible!
Other things we are looking forward to this month are going to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving! It will be our second time flying with Liam, and his first time meeting several family members on Collin’s side. So fun! They have already had some snow…so who knows, maybe we’ll get a chance to take him sledding!
Liam is currently wearing some 3-6 month clothes, but is quickly moving into mostly 6-12 month sizes! We don’t have an official weight for him, but I think he’s around 17 lbs!
His sleep keeps getting better and better. When we first brought him home he was waking up twice in the middle of the night to nurse. Now he’s down to waking up once – usually around 4 or 5am, then he’ll go back to sleep for a couple of hours. We’ve also had a couple of nights where he’s slept all the way through morning! Day napping on the other hand could use some work, but we usually get 30 minutes to an hour here and there. Has anyone tried the Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit?? I’ve heard good things about it, but haven’t brought myself to order one yet. Liam has started to break out of his swaddles, and can’t stand the velcro ones (he’ll grunt until you let him free!), so was thinking this might work well for him and might help him sleep for longer stretches during the day.
I fall more in love with him every day! I am so excited for our first Thanksgiving and our first Christmas with him! I have so many Pinterest projects I want to make with him like this footprint ornament – how cute is that?!
I’m also working on putting together a list of gift ideas for babies under 6 months to help with our Christmas shopping! I was recently reading something where a mama gifts 1 thing they want, 1 thing they need, 1 thing to wear, and 1 thing to read for each of her kids. I love this idea! What are you planning to do for your kids during the holidays?
