Liam and I took our first trip to the local library this past week, and we had a great time! I love the time we spend reading together, and Liam seems to enjoy it too. We started reading books with him right away, and have made it part of our daily routine. We don’t watch any TV or movies with him and don’t plan to until he is at least two years old, so books are our entertainment, and I love it! It’s so fun pulling out some of my old favorites and reading them once again to my little guy.
I thought it would be fun to share our library haul with you, and share some of our favorites that you might enjoy reading with your littles as well!
Last week’s haul:
Hey Diddle Diddle
This book made me giggle – it’s a play on the nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle and I think you’ll enjoy it too.
This is a cute book about hugs and kisses from different family members – I found a few family members of ours in this book! Haha Maybe you will too.
Duck & Goose, Goose Needs a Hug
This was the first Duck & Goose book that we’ve read, and I thought it was very sweet.
I love Sandra Boynton books, but this isn’t one of my favorites.
Everything Goes: Good Night, Trucks
A very simple book that I’m sure any truck-obsessed little boy or girl would love.
A cute and simple numbers book…I’d like to check out more of the Maisy mouse books.
I was disappointed with this book – I thought it would have more useful signs for a book named My First Baby Signs – I’m glad I didn’t buy it.
Farmer Dale’s Red Pickup Truck
A little long for a baby Liam’s age, but I loved the story…the cow character was my favorite.
This one was also a little long for Liam, but it’s a cute story about a lonely Old Bear and Little Cub finding each other.
I think this book was written for the littles who don’t like to take a bath…so far that’s not our Liam! Haha
A great Easter book that teaches colors.
So Many Bunnies
This is such a sweet ABC & counting book – one of my favorites from the pile.
Owen’s Marshmallow Chick
This would be a great book for the Easter basket!
I’m really impressed with how many children’s books our library has, and love that Liam and I can pick out several books to read over a week or two, and go back to switch them out for different ones. If we find one that we love and can’t live without we’ll order it!
Our library also has a couple of different activities for children during the week. We’ve been to a music class, and I’m excited to check out a sing and sign-a-long soon too! What are some of your favorite children’s books that we should check out?
