I’m a little late in posting this, but a few weeks ago our sweet girl turned three months old! Three months feels like a huge milestone! We survived three months of being parents of two, survived weeks of colic-like crying, and toddler tantrums adjusting to being a big brother.
Nyah is changing every day and growing so fast! I’m really trying to savor these moments of her being a little baby, because I know it doesn’t last forever, and pretty soon I will look at her and she’ll be one!
I don’t have an official height or weight for her, as we haven’t taken her in to the Doctor recently, but she is eating great and I expect that she is close to her brother’s size at this age, maybe a little smaller. She is wearing 3-6 month clothes and has long arms & legs.
Since we’ve overcome “colic” for the most part (read more about that here), she has been such a happy and smiley little baby! She has the cutest little snorty laugh that makes you laugh too! Everyone says she looks like her mama, and I love it! She loves listening to stories with her brother, and goes crazy kicking whenever we put her in her bouncer or on her activity mat. She loves watching and talking to her dangling toys – her favorites are the noisy ones – anything that rattles or crinkles. Her current favorites are Mr. Whoozit and this Infantino stroller toy.
She is also loving warm baths – we’ve done family baths as well as baths in her little tub. She loves them all! She likes being carried around like a sack of potatoes, diaper changes, and doing bicycle legs.
At 3 months old, Nyah has already been to two new states: Missouri and Wisconsin. We spent Thanksgiving in St. Louis with Collin’s parents, and Christmas in Wisconsin with my side of the family. All of our flights went pretty well – there was a little crying, but for a majority of the flight she slept in the carrier with Daddy.
Sleep has been a challenge for us so far. She is still sleeping in this swing – that’s the only place she’s been able to get consistent rest. We are going to be working on taking at least one nap a day in the crib soon. Most of the time she sleeps for 40 minutes to an hour, sometimes we’ll get a longer nap. She has been waking up around 7:30/8am and goes to sleep at 7/8pm. She usually sleeps through the night or will wake up once to nurse then right back to sleep. The last couple of nights she has been waking up a lot, and we’re thinking she’s probably going through a growth spurt. I’m hoping her night sleep goes back to normal soon…mama is tired!
Nyah’s 3 Month Milestones:
- Blows bubbles
- Smiles
- Laughs
- Coos
- Squeals
- Follows objects with her eyes and
- Kicks with excitement
I am looking forward to spending time at home with my littles over the coming months. Nyah has been so cute, and I feel like I’m finally getting to know her. She is starting to smile and laugh at things Liam does as well, so every day is getting better and easier for everyone.
