Our little busy body is 8 months old! I still can’t believe how quickly the months have gone by, but I am savoring every moment. I love watching Liam discover the world…pulling blades of grass, digging his hands in the sand, and CRAWLING to spin the wheels on daddy’s skateboard. It’s the little things that make him so happy.
Liam just started crawling this week, and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bring tears to my eyes. I am so in love and so proud of this little man. My love for him grows with every day.
We don’t have another doctor’s appointment until next month, so I’ve been weighing him at home. Liam is currently 23 lbs. 6 oz. and wearing mostly 18 month clothes. He can still wear a few 12 month clothes, but they are getting harder to put on and tighter on his little belly – look at those rolls!
We also had to move Liam into a new convertible car seat this month! He’s such a big boy and was starting to look so cramped in his infant car seat. We found the perfect fit for our little car – the Maxi Cosi Pria 70 – and Liam seems so comfy in there.
His hair has gotten so long and is starting to get some curls in the back. I’m not sure how he managed to keep his beautiful blue eyes, but people are always commenting on how pretty they are, and how cute he is! I can’t help but to agree!
Liam has been eating more solid foods this month, here are some of his favorites:
- Banana
- Avocado
- Mango
- Clementines
- Papaya
- Watermelon
- Blueberries
- Applesauce
- Refried Beans
- Rice
- Cucumber
- Puffs
He is back to waking up once in the middle of the night to nurse, usually around 4am, and will sleep for another couple of hours. Our wake up time has recently gotten earlier, around 5:30am-6:00am, and I’m hoping it’s just due to a cold he’s had the last couple of weeks. I am not a morning person, and have been drinking too much coffee as a result.
Naps are still going pretty well, he is starting to drop his third nap, but will usually take two solid 1 1/2 hour naps every day. His first nap happens about 2 hours after he wakes, and the second about 3 hours after he wakes from his first. His longest wake period is in the evening. It’s actually been pretty fun – we use the extra hours to go do something – Sunday we went on a family hike and Saturday we went for a longer bike ride by the bay.
New things Liam loves this month:
- Crawling
- Peek-a-boo!
- Blowing raspberries
- Camping
We’re looking forward to having visitors this month, a weekend getaway, celebrating daddy and mama’s birthdays, and getting over this cold we’ve all had for the last couple of weeks!
