Happy New Year! Yikes, it’s been a while since I’ve written an update! We had a busy November/December with the holidays and visiting family! Liam had such a fun time in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving, and in St. Louis for Christmas.
The last couple of months we’ve been playing catch up and just enjoying being back home! We’ve been going to the park a lot, swimming, hiking, and spending time at the beach. Liam has changed and developed so much recently! He is officially a running, talking toddler!
He is still taking swim lessons twice a week at the Murray Callan Swim School and he loves it! He loves jumping off the edge of the pool and swimming like a turtle.
We recently took a trip to the Zoo with friends and on the way there he was telling me all of the animals he wanted to see: lions, giraffes, and elephants. We were able to fit them all in, and he ran around like a wild man! We’ve been able to go on some longer adventures the last few weeks as we’ve transitioned him to taking just one afternoon nap at around 12:30pm. It’s going pretty good so far, although his nap times have gone from 3 hours total to 1 1/2 – 2 hours, so a little less “me time,” but we have lots of fun exploring together!
Liam’s vocabulary has grown SO much over the last two months it’s crazy! He loves to try and say just about anything you ask him to, and he is starting to form short 2-3 word sentences like “get it please” and “did it”. We’ve also been working on learning our ABC’s and counting to 10 (in English and Spanish)!
One of Liam’s other new favorite activities has been reading stories – as we are reading he will complete sentences in the books we read. It’s amazing to see how much he is really paying attention and how many words he actually knows that we had no idea he even knew how to say! Right now, he loves to read Olivia, Little Blue Truck, and Toy Boat.
Updates:
- He is still wearing size 2T clothes and moving into size 7 shoes
- He has lots of teeth, including his first set of molars, and 4 canine teeth
- He weighs 28lbs, and is 2′ 10″ tall
We are still nursing a couple times a day and his favorite foods right now are pancakes, eggs, peas, olives, baked beans, and grapes. In the morning when I ask him what he wants for breakfast he will almost always say pancakes. We have a lot of fun mixing them up together – we usually eat them for our special family breakfast on Sunday mornings, and sometimes we make them during the week too.
It’s been so fun watching him grow and show more of his own personality – we are excited for the coming months! Papa and Nana will be visiting next month along with Auntie Theresa & Uncle Greg! We are so lucky!!
