I can’t believe Liam is already 4 months old! The time is just flying by. I can honestly say that being his Mom gets better with every day. I am so excited for his first Christmas. We are counting down the days…
We leave in a little over a week to spend a week with my family in Wisconsin for Christmas, and about a week with Collin’s family in Florida for New Years! We’re so excited to share Liam with our families, for him to spend time with his grandparents, and his Auntie Theresa & Uncle Greg who haven’t seen him since he was 2 weeks old! He’s such a happy little guy and will make this Christmas even more special! He’s already a fan of Christmas carols (just like his mama), and loves looking at the lights on our little Christmas tree. His favorite ornament is a jingle bell that was his Great Great Grandma Westaby’s.
We’ve had a really fun month with Liam starting swimming lessons. Plus how cute is he in his little surfer i play swim diaper?! We tried a couple of brands, and these our our favorite! We go to the Murray Callan Swim School twice a week, and he seems to really enjoy it. There were a couple days where it may not have been his favorite thing due to lack of naps (we’re still working on that), but overall it’s been really fun for all of us! A couple from our birthing class and their little cutie Cara will be joining us this week – we’re so excited!!
Our four month pediatrician appointment was yesterday, and it went great! Our big guy is off the charts for height and weight – weighing in at 19lbs 2.8oz and 2′ 2.8″ tall! He’s currently wearing 6-12 month clothes, and has all kinds of adorable little rolls. He’s lost a lot of his hair – it seems to be growing back lighter, and I may see some curls in there too…only time will tell!
He sadly no longer fits in his Rock n’ Play, and we have yet to transfer him to his crib, so we are currently co-sleeping. I secretly love the extra snuggles, but do want to get him used to sleeping in his crib soon. I’m afraid I’m going to miss him across the hall.
Liam’s discovered that his hands are the best thing ever, and is constantly sticking them in his mouth, grabbing mama’s hair, and recently has starting playing with the toys on his Jumperoo. He’s not quite jumping in it yet, but I have a feeling he will very soon. He’s also started to arch his back, and has been working really hard on trying to roll over from his back to his tummy. He loves going on walks facing forward in our lillebaby carrier. It’s so cute, he’ll just squeal and flail his arms. It was a lifesaver on our flight to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. It was the only way we could get him to fall asleep on the plane. Collin would wear him facing in, and gently bounce him to sleep with the hood up so it was nice a dark for him. Let’s hope it works just as well on our flights for Christmas (we have 2 connections)!
We spent Thanksgiving with Collin’s family at the farm in Wisconsin. Liam did so great with all of the people, and I enjoyed all the extra hands (big and small)!
We’re looking forward to seeing some of you over the holidays!
