1. Nature Made Prenatal Multi + Dha, 200mg, 150 Softgels
I started taking these prenatal vitamins a few months before I got pregnant. I never had any problem getting them down & I think they’ve helped keep my energy levels up (meaning I haven’t taken TOO many mid-day naps).
2. BabyBump iPhone App
I love this iPhone app – there are SO many pregnancy apps, but I love this one for it’s daily tips.
3. Champion Women’s Shaped T-Back Sports Bra
This is one of the only bras I’ve been able to wear, as my breasts were super sore during the beginning of my pregnancy. Yes, it’s a sports bra – but it seems super supportive because of the extra padding and most importantly – it’s comfortable!
4. Aunt Be Botanicals – Be Expecting Belly Balm
I purchased this from our local farmers market & so far I’m loving it. I have no idea if it will actually help prevent stretch marks, but it sure feels good on my belly. It really helps with my itchy/dry skin.
Update: During my second pregnancy, I used Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and loved it! No stretch marks during either of my pregnancies, and the Burt’s Bees Belly Butter is much easier to find!
5. American Apparel Winter Legging
I’ve always loved these American Apparel leggings – they are thick, long enough for my tall figure, and super comfy. The rise is quite a bit higher than several of my other leggings, which has worked well in pregnancy so far.
6. Brain Rules for Baby: How to Raise a Smart and Happy Child from Zero to Five
My hubby and I have been reading this book together before bed, and it has been so informational! It’s been super helpful to learn more about how our brains work & we think it has some great insight to raising happy children.
7. Traditional Medicinals Organic Pregnancy Tea – Caffeine Free
I’ve always been a big coffee drinker, so switching over to tea has been tough. However, during my first trimester I found myself reaching for this pregnancy tea all the time (maybe just because it was fun to drink something called pregnancy tea!)
8. Thermos + Threadless Intak Bunny Ears 18 Ounce Hydration Bottle
This was a gift from my lovely sister, and it makes me smile every time I use it. I have faithfully kept this by my side every single day of my pregnancy so far. I love that it has a straw – which somehow helps me to drink more water during the day!
UPDATE: I now use & love this Camelbak Eddy Bottle – it’s bigger and better for travel as it doesn’t leak when the straw is snapped down.
[Update] Looking back, what I wish I had purchased from the very beginning:
During my pregnancy, it got more and more uncomfortable to sleep. I woke up at 3am almost every night during the last couple months, and often times ended up moving to the couch where I would end up grabbing an hour more of sleep. I wish I would have purchased a pregnancy pillow from the very beginning to make sleep more comfortable. Towards the end I felt it was a waste of money since I wouldn’t be pregnant much longer. It is definitely on the top of my list of things to purchase for my next pregnancy.
I had a pair of Motherhood maternity jeans that I loved and wore out during my pregnancy – the secret fit belly band was the most comfortable of all the jeans I purchased, and I would definitely purchase more of these! Skip Gap or other maternity jeans and go with these! There are lots of different styles.
