Second Trimester Favorites

Now that I’m entering into my third trimester and the final weeks of my pregnancy, I thought I would share what has helped me get through these last few months. Everyone tells me that the second trimester is the best, you feel great, and have more energy than the first trimester. I would say that all of that is true, but I think what really made this second trimester SO great is that I finally started feeling our little babe moving around in there…!!

Something not so great that has started these last couple of weeks is waking up at 3AM and not being able to get back to sleep. Those of you that know me, know that I LOVE and NEED my sleep otherwise I get a little how do you say…cranky?! I’m hoping that this phase passes quickly.

1. One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book
I love this little journal. A friend gave it to me as a gift for my bridal shower. I don’t write in it every day, but I enjoy jotting down milestones like when I first felt the baby kick, our 20 week ultrasound, etc. I think it will be great as our babe gets older too, to help remember the funny little things they say & do throughout the day.

2. Dr. Bronners – Virgin Coconut Oil
My skin has been extremely dry and itchy, and a friend mentioned that I try coconut oil. It is the only thing that helps – and I feel good about putting it on my body because it’s all-natural and won’t harm my skin or the baby.

3. Basics Women’s Stella Maternity & Nursing Bra
This is the most comfortable maternity/nursing bra – seriously! If you don’t have one, go buy it! I’m definitely going to pick up more the next time we’re at Target.

4. Natural Hospital Birth: The Best of Both Worlds
I’ve been eating this book up – the last couple of chapters I’ve read have been about the signs of early labor & creating to-do lists to distract yourself from early labor (like taking walks, watching a movie, baking birthday cupcakes!), and then moves on to talk about active labor – laboring techniques you can do at home and shares different scenarios on when to go to the hospital to ideally arrive when you’re 6-7cm dilated.

5. Cuties Mandarins
I’m still loving cuties! I pick them up in a huge bag at Costco & they are gone within a week or so. They are such a sweet little snack.

6. Keurig Green Mountain Coffee Hazelnut Decaf K-Cups
I love coffee & was struggling to find a decaf coffee that I liked (that I could use in my Keurig) – I found this hazelnut flavored coffee at Target & really like it!

7. Oh Baby by Motherhood Secret Fit Belly Boyfriend Jeans (not pictured)
My mom purchased these for me at Kohl’s and they are the most comfortable maternity jeans. They are also stylish – you can’t tell they are maternity jeans. I can’t find them at Kohls.com anymore, but they have some similar styles here.
