Happy 9 months to Liam!! This was a huge month for our little guy! He is a crawling, hide-and-seek playing, talking, and standing little boy. I can’t believe that his 1st Birthday is just a short three months away. We’ll have to start some party planning!
We have Liam’s 9 month check-up at the pediatricians office on Monday, so I don’t have a weight and height for him yet, but he is wearing 18 month clothes now. Most of his 12 month things are too small and ready to be retired. He is growing so fast and his legs are getting so long, most of his 12 month pants have become capris! We need to go shopping for a few more bigger things.
Liam has been pulling himself up to stand for a couple of weeks now, and is getting more and more confident every day. He loves to walk around the house holding onto our fingers, and a few days ago let go and stood on his own for about 20 seconds. He thought he was pretty cool after that and has been trying “no hands” while standing by the couch and other pieces of furniture around the house. He is getting into EVERYTHING these days, and Mama and Daddy decided that we really need to do some baby-proofing around here before we have any big accidents.
Our little boy loves to read; we have a pile of books in our living room from the library and I will sit on the floor with him while he grabs one and brings it to me to read. It’s the cutest thing. He has a couple favorites right now, like Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo and the The Bunny Rabbit Show! that we’ve been reading over and over again, but out of all of the toys and things he has to play with he chooses his books first. We have so much fun reading stories together.
Another thing he’s loving lately is this new trick he learned at swim lessons! He actually loves it so much that he throws a bit of a tantrum when she brings him back down because he was having so much fun, and wasn’t done yet!
We’ve been trying more foods this month too, and his current favorites are sweet potato and blueberries. We’ve been having fruit for breakfast, usually banana with some berries, a mid-day snack, and a small dinner around 5pm. He also tried pancakes and peanut butter & jelly for the first time this month.
Liam started talking on Mama’s birthday – he can say Dada, Mama, and num num. He’s also very good at growling, something that his Grandma taught him! His eyes have stayed the bluest blue and his hair is growing like crazy and getting the sweetest curls just like Dada’s. We ran across a picture of the hubs from an old album of his Grandma Dolly’s – and think that Liam is starting to look a lot like his daddy. What do you think?
We are down to 2 naps a day – the first one is 2 hours after he wakes up, and the 2nd one is 3 hours after his first nap. He still goes to bed around 7pm and has been waking up between 6am – 7am. I sometimes miss the extra time to myself, but it also gives us more time to do fun activities in the afternoons. The other day we rode bike to Fanuel Park, went swinging and played with some of the other kids there, and rode back home. He is loving his bike seat these days and has so much fun turning the steering wheel and ringing our bike bell!
More new things Liam loves this month:
- Giving slobbery wet kisses
- Playing with boxes
- Crazy dancing and shaking his head
- Taking a bath in the BIG tub
- Cruising with his walker – a surprise gift from Daddy
- Trains – we have this one from Hape
It’s so fun to see his personality bloom, and see him become more interested in things and people. We have so much fun with our little Liam Bo Biam and are looking forward to lots more new adventures together.
