A Coachella Babymoon

This past weekend the hubs and I took our annual trip to the desert to Coachella. Yes, I braved the 97+ degree heat while 5 months pregnant! I’d say all in all it went well, and we both had an amazing time!!

We stayed at the Desert Hot Spring Spa Hotel – it was a bit of a drive to the event, but it was SO worth it to come home to a nice warm mineral bath after being on our feet all day. The best thing was that you could use the pools 24 hours a day, so we didn’t miss out. We could jump right in at midnight or 1am after our stop at Del Taco for a late night spicy jack quesadilla without breaking any rules!

Being that seeing live music is one our our favorite things, we of course loved Coachella just as much as we always do, but I would have to say Saturday was a highlight for both of us! Besides the fact we hung out with stood next to Kate Bosworth and Fergie, we saw some of our favorite shows by CHVRCHES, Cage the Elephant, and Foster the People.

Thanks to our indulgent weekend I was also able to fulfill some of my most recent cravings: pancakes, falafel wraps, and ice cream (Salt & Straw ice cream from Portland, OR to be more specific) – Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache was my fave. All of these things I had at least 2 maybe 3 times. It was great!

Some tips for future Coachella loving pregnant ladies: drink plenty of water, bring a bandana that you can soak in water and wear around your neck, you’ll do plenty of walking/standing – so take some time to sit down during the day. My legs were killing me by Day 3, but it was nothing that ice cream and a warm spring bath couldn’t fix! Other than that, just enjoy yourself. It really wasn’t that different experiencing Coachella pregnant – I maybe took a few more potty breaks and walked a bit slower…

Other things to note – Baby K likes the band Foxygen – would not stop kicking the entire show (which I loved). I really love Salt & Straw ice cream, I think it’s quite possibly the best ice cream I’ve ever had. How do I get them to come to San Diego?! I’m still feeling great, and we’re getting more and more excited to meet this little musician!
